Hi there,
I’m using the Advanced Access Control extension and I would like to let the user filter its downloads using the categories he is allowed to.
May I get some help?
Hello, Liborio
I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.
Please visit https://try.wpdownloadmanager.com/archive-page-compact/ and let me know if this aligns with what you’re looking for.

Hello Tahasin,
thank you for you quick reply. I saw the solution you provided is related to an extension. Would it be possible to test it before buying it?
Thanks in advance.
Sure, could you suggest how to access the back end, please?
Hi,
thank you. I took a look.
However I’m wondering why the shortcodes wpdm_category and wpdm_all_packages, using the add-on Advanced Access Control, show to the user also the packages he is not enabled too.
Hope you can help.
Choose the Hide Everything
option under the When user is not allowed to download:
setting. This ensures that users will not see any packages they are not permitted to download.
Pardon me, I thought you were using Download Manager Pro. The feature is available for pro only
I understand, thank you.
If you find my assistance valuable, I would greatly appreciate your support with a 5-star review here ,

Thanks you
Just done!
Hi,
now I have Download Manager Pro, WPDM – Advanced Access Control, WPDM – Archive Page, but I’m still not able to reach what I need.
I would simply need to show to the users I gave access the categories and downloads. Providing them with the category filter which shows the categories they have access.
For example: categories on the left and single packages on the right.
In my attempts all of the packages or all of the categories are shown, not just the ones the user has access.
Could you suggest how to get this, please?
Hello,
thank you. That’s what I did, but the categories are still shown.
Hope you can help.
Regards
You can restrict categories by clicking the “Edit” button for a specific category and setting the desired access level from category settings. I have attached two screenshots for your help. screenshot_1, screenshot_2
Please check
I did it for a specific user, but it is still shown.
Moreover, once I restrict a category, isn’t it possible that the downloads related to the category inherit the restriction? I currently have to restrict each download per user.
Unfortunately, that is not possible at the moment. You can restrict a category for a specific role (subscriber, editor, etc), but not for an individual user.
I understand, let me better explain which is my main purpose.
I want to set a page where each user who logs in finds its own documents with the chance to filter them for a specific category.
Obviously he should not see the categories and files related to other users.
Is there any method I can use to achieve this?
Hi,
even if I enabled a specific user to a file, it is shown by other users too.
I’m using the following shortcode.
[wpdm_archive_flat orderby=”date” order=”DESC”]
Could you help, please?
That’s exactly what I already did.
If I create a dedicated user, could you take a look, please?
