I have been using the WPDM free version for over half a year, the previous (still current) version is 2.7.95, and it all works well. But since I updated the version, the problem keeps occurring. The newest version is the most severe one. After I installed the update, all the files cannot be downloaded, only the “Link expired” or “File not found” txt after clicking the download button.
So now I roll back the version to the 2.7.95 and everything is just fine. But I still wanna try the new features in the newest version. Can the author check the problems for me?

If its possible you can show us the output where you getting the error.
However, in last update we have improved code base and using namespace, which require php v5.3.0+ ( http://php.net/manual/en/language.namespaces.rationale.php ), may you please update your server php version, however if that is not possible, you can get back the previous version from here https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/download-manager.2.8.3.zip .
Actually my current php version is 5.5, so… And I’m now using the 2.7.95 instead of the 2.8 versions, everything is fine. So could you check the problems for me? The issue is: When I upgrade to newest version, every file I used to upload is not downloadable by any roles: subscriber, author or admin. I wonder why this happen. And I wonder if any other people are facing the same problem as mine.

Hi there, if possible, please hurry up a little bit please? I cannot maintain the bugged plugin for too long, other people need to download files, many thanks!
Actually problem was because, any other plugin there was generating unexpected output, like some blank or new line chars at the beginning, however I tried to update but it was asking for ftp info, please give me ftp access , after update, I need to edit a file to trim the newline chars before filename, then download will work regularly.
