Is there a way to require someone to provide a name and e-mail address prior to downloading a file?

I just purchased the pro version, downloaded the zip file,
Download-Manager-Pro-v4.1.4.zip

uploaded the zip file to add plugins and I got a message that:

The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin install failed.

I have already deleted the free version

I am using wordpress 4 with Agent Press theme on the Genesis platform

Any suggestions on how I can correct the problem?

I have the same question. Do you also have the settingsmenu available? I have the feeling I miss most of the plugin.
