I have been using this plugin for many versions, since updating to 3.2.15, whenever the download page is loaded, and password is inputted, it kicks to website homepage…

Please, provide us with your temporary wp-admin login details and site URL in a private reply for checking the issue.
Also, share the related page/file/package URL with us where the issue exists.

It seems you are using a custom .htacess file. Can you please try after using the default WordPress .htacess?
Default .htacess can be found here.
Also, there can be a conflict with another plugin, can you please enable/disable other plugins for checking, you may also switch theme to another for checking, please let me know then.

Glad to hear that you fund the plugin. In the latest version codebase has been rebuilt from the ground.
So, sometimes other plugins may prevent download functionality.
