Download permissions

Hello
i just would like to upload a lot of big files (pdf, videos, audio files) and to give some users the permission to download some of them. Possibly catching user’s name and ip address.
Some files could be uploaded on site’s server, some other will be on mediafire, google, or something like that.

Do you think that this plugin (probably in the PRO version) is ideal or you think that it’s better to program a php page where it’s possible to find the links to download, retrieving user’s names and permissions from WP database?
