Hi,
I’m currently testing your download manager plugin with WPML. I have created a new download and translated it with WPML, but when I open the download page and change the language, following message is displayed instead of the download button: “Sie dürfen nicht herunterladen.” (“You are not allowed to download.”).
With the default language the download works.
WPML also translates the URL path. Could it be a problem that the URL is different?
Best regards
Thilo
Hello Thilo Förster,
Hope you are well. And sorry for the inconvenience. Please share the related URLs. if possible, please, give your temporary wp-admin login details in a private reply to check the issue.
Thank you and regards
It can be conflict with any plugin/active-theme/scripts. You can better use Gtranslate plugin, it is free and i hope it may be a suitable solution for you too. Please kindly check.
Thank you and regards
I have deactivated all plugins except WPML, Staging and Download Manager and the problem persists.
So it does not seem to work with WPML?
Can you try to figure out the problem? Else we need to continue our search for a new download manager plugin which supports WPML.
We can not use any other translation plugin. Most of the others did not meet our requirements and we have already put months of work into the translations with WPML.
Please kindly reactivate your credentials again. Please kindly check.
Thank you and regards
Can you please kindly try stopping generating the URL for slug for WPML translation? Please kindly check.
Thank you and regards
Ok, I have changed the slug translation to the original English value.
I have also tried let WPML change the URL path instead of adding the parameter, but this also did not make any difference.
The lang=de can’t be removed for WPML to work. On non staging sites I can change it to change the path instead of adding the parameter, e.g. to “aquariumcomputer.com/de/wpdm/test-file” but then it also does not work.
I think the slug is causing the issue if it not be changed then the issue might not be arisen. Please kindly check.
Thank you and regards
