Download not possible – secured connection refused

Hallo,
since the last update, no downloads seem to be possible. When i add a new file (or go to the download page of old files) and click on “Download” a new tab opens with the page saying Secure Connection Failed. I already tried and deleted the cache of the plugin and changed the setting of Temporary Storage Managment to “Store in Database” (this setting seems not to be possible to save, it always switches back to “File”)
What else could be the problem?

Hello @meylo,
Hope you are well.
There can be a conflict with another plugin, can you please enable/disable other plugins for checking, you may also switch the theme to another for checking, please let me know then.
If still, the problem exists then please provide us with your temporary wp-admin login details and site URL in a private reply for checking the issue.
Also, please share the related page/file/package URL with us where the issue exists.
