Hi,

Today a colleague of mine pointed out that he wasn’t able to download the software from our site. Instead of a file download, he saw a gigantic BLOB-like text bulk on his screen (see attached screenshot). We have the latest version of WPDM Free and WordPress (4.5.3) installed. Is this some kind of known issue?

After some simple testing with a text file, I discovered that the plugin doesn’t download anymore, it tries to open the file instead of giving a download.

Is there a way to fix this?

I’ve tried to clone the site to my localhost. It runs as expected there, no problems whatsoever.

I hope you can help me.

Sincerely,
Guido Visser

This problem usually occurs due to conflicting with other plugins or the theme. Please try deactivating other activated plugins or try changing your theme.
If this don’t solve your problem please provide me your temporary login credentials using private reply to check the issue.

Hi Jass,

Thanks for replying!

I realized that the downloads where working just fine, up until I installed WP Super Cache. I also realized that all downloads via your plugin are done via a GET request. So I checked the option: ‘Don’t cache pages with GET parameters. (?x=y at the end of a url)’ and the downloads are working again. Maybe it’s a good idea to inform people about this in an FAQ or something, just a thought.

Thanks for your input! Much appreciated!

Sincerely,
Guido Visser
