Hi,
I have a free version. Is there any way to generate a link that directly downloads the file (keeping tracks of download/view hit). Actually links takes users to a download page, not to the file.

Yes, you can do that and that direct link will keep track of your download.

Just refer to the attached picture for getting a direct download link.
