After updating the download manager plugin to version 3.1.24, the download is not working and showing the error as an Invalid file type. I have tried deactivating and reactivating again, Checked for the plugin conflicts issue by disabling all other plugins and themes but it is still showing the same error. We are uploading .exe files and in the Settings ->Basic settings -> Upload settings -> Allowed file types have added .exe extension name there but it is still showing the same error.

Please advise how we can fix this issue

Hello there,

I think in the allowed file types .exe extension is not included, is this because my download was not working as it was working perfectly from last year.

The .exe extension is included in the allowed file type and working perfectly from our side. Please make sure you add the .exe extension on the allowed file type and click Save Settings. If you still face the problem give me your site URL and temporary admin login details in a private reply for checking the issue.

Thanks

I don’t have access to the settings. Make sure you didn’t put . before file type.

Thanks

Hi Sidratul!

I have a similar issue. In my case the upload of files ending ‘.apk’ is not working (invalid file type)

Now I have tried to add apk to the list of allowed file endings – nothing changed.
I have tried you suggestion to add the ‘dot’ before apk, like ‘.akp’ – still not working. The file simply does not upload…

Any suggetions how to solve this?
