hi,
after the wp 3.6 update all download files or at least the links are broken.
The files still available on the server but if someone is downloading them the file size is 0kb.
Any idea what is going wrong ?

url is: http://www.ausbildung-fuerstenwalde.de/?page_id=4523 and http://www.ausbildung-fuerstenwalde.de/?page_id=4504.
Password for both is: LOS-bs#99

Please click on the word “Herunterladen” on the lower part of the site.

I didn’t change my workflow, conditions on server didn’t change either. I work for month with download manager and it worked perfect.
Now I get the 0 Byte-error or error message that file is corrupted or destroyed, but files are okay. It’s linked on the pdf-symbol too. It doesn’t matter if I upload file directly onto server or choose from the library. Any ideas?

I’ve got the same problem here: it has nothing to do with the server or the hoster because nothing changed but the WordPress 3.6 update. Since then your plugin does not work anymore.

I get the 0kb problem on two different servers, completely different, except for WordPress 3.6. Switching back to 3.5.4 solves the problem.

So your plugin is not WordPress 3.6 compatible and as we need a working download manager, could you please inform us if there’s going to be an update soon (the update today did not solve the problem) or not. If not, we can look for a different plugin.

Thank you very much!

Hi I have exactly the same issue since the WP 3.6 update of the plugin. It’s pretty conclusive with all the people experiencing the issue and the testing done, that this is an issue with the plugin.

Could you let us know if you’re looking at this issue please?

Thanks

@Shaon this is a great plugin, but the WordPress 3.6 0kb filesize thing makes it unusable, I have even tried chmodding the files to 777 but this hasn’t made any difference, so I know it’s not a permissions issue.

Could you let us know if you acknowledge this issue & are looking in to it, or should we give up on this plugin and look to other plugins so our visitors can download files?

I really don’t want to have to rollback my WordPress install just to make this workable, as I then risk the security of my site.

Thanks

Ok, after battling file uploads in creating a download, I am getting the same 0 bytes download in WP 3.6.

Can anyone please look into this or shed some wisdom? It will be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
g

More discoveries:

chmoding the folder on the server where my download resides to 755 changes the download size to 20 bytes.

I tried serveral things but none of them worked… it is not about chmod, paths or server settings.
Every day I get a whole bunch of emails from people being angry at me that the downloads on our website don’t work. I am really disappointed that Shaon does not care at all. Even if we use the free version, he should at least fix the worst bugs and this is one of them because the script is completely unusable. 🙁

Yes – thanks toby_88 same behavior here. Disabling NextGEN fixes the 0kb download issue. Not sure who’s side this bug exists.

thebibman – you mean disable the minify feature for General, HTML & XML, JS, CSS? I have all those unchecked but I stil get the “Minify via disk is currently enabled. “…

thanks,
