Hi,
Apologises if this is a setup error my side but does anyone else have an isssue were the download link opens an in browser player and does not start the file download? I can download the file by right clicking the player and saving the audio but this does not seem right to me, any thoughts?
I am using the free version as this is a POC for a client atm who may need more features but to begin with I need to show them that it is working as required.
Greatly appreciate everyone’s help and support in advance.
Hello Alex,
Thanks for contacting WPDM Support forum.
However, you can check the below setting is already disabled

If all are set properly, Sometimes cache can cause this issue. So if you are using any cache plugin, kindly clear cache and disable that for some times.
After following all, if the issue still persists, please share temporary admin access in a private reply as well as realted downloads links.

Hi Tanvir,
Thank you, how would I send a direct private message?
I have updated the plugin locally, cleared cache and checked settings and it is still opening in the browser. Is there any other settings or should it download as a default? Just wondering if I have not set the file up properly.
Hello,
If you use the below feature to upload download files, it should start download promptly. But if you upload using the select below features under that, downloads may open directly in browser. Because those feature creates direct link of download.

However, you can provide access here. Before submitting reply, just check mark the “Set as private reply”

Hi,
I had the same problem and attaching the files directly solved it.
Nevertheless this means the files are saved twice on the server.
It would be great if the direct download worked with files from the media library as well.
Can’t you just add the download attribute to the a href tag if the Open in browser setting is false?
Best regards, Andreas.
That has worked, thank you both!
Not quite sure what I did first time around.
