Display Extension

I simply want to have the possibility to output in my template the file extension (PDF, ZIP, DOC, etc.) as text – currently I can’t find a simple way to do this – without using icons. A template-shortcode like [extension] would be much appreciated!

while digging the code, I found this: [file_ext] – seems to do just what I needed 🙂
