Direct Download

Hello,

I am attempting to use Download Manager as a repository for all the documents that live on our site. However, I need the link that I place on the site to directly download the file.

For example, now when I put the link on the page it brings the visitor to the download page, but I do NOT want this. This requires too many clicks. I want there to be a “Download Doc” link on a product page and for the document to download immediately, with no rerouting.

Is this currently possible?

Thank you for the reply. Is there anyway to make this short-code behave as a simple link or to remove the PDF image and file size info? I am running into an issue where I cannot simply put this code in the place of a link.

Can you confirm this is what I want if I am looking for this result:

– Document is uploaded to WordPress File Manager
– Link for document is placed on 2 web pages
– Link will automatically download document that has been uploaded
– A newer version of the document is created
– The document is uploaded in place of the original document
– Links on the 2 web pages remain the same and do not need to be updated

I have upgraded to WPDM Pro and would like some help on setting up direct downloads as you mentioned, but there does not seem to be any info on custom links. Please advise.
