Critical error on this website - WordPress Download Manager

I get this message as soon as I try to download a document that I uploaded via Download Manager:

“There has been a critical error on this website.
Learn more about debugging in WordPress.”

I have have no coding experience so I am not sure what to do or what the problem could be.

Can anyone please assist me?
