Can't Link to Files in Root Directories in New Version?

It appears I can no longer link my download to a file in a folder outside of the WP environment (with the new version.) I link to directories in the root. This has worked beautifully until the big new version. I’ve now reverted to an older version to continue this. Is it not possible with the new version?

(Sorry – I tried to find reference to this in the forum, but did not.)

to link file from out side of wp root, you need to change file browser root from download manager settings page.
