Can I use a link for the download rather than the icon and package look?

This is an incredible plugin. It worked flawlessly for me from the beginning. My only problem with it is that my templates don’t always play nice with the look of the package(s). I’d prefer to be able to display and track downloads by using a simple link. With shortcode, I can’t see a way around this.

Can this be done?

I figured out a hack to remove the standard package and icon styling. Looks pretty good.
