I have an issue whereas I go to add a new download and use thge “Select from Server” option.
In doing so, the server file browser does not appear.
I am using Chrome Version 87.0.4280.88 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Server is VirtualMin on Ubuntu server 16LTS (home based VPS)
and plugin version is Version 3.1.12
Wondering what dependencies the plugin requires? It could be possible that the version of PHP on my server is too old (PHP 7.0)
edit: Screen turns opaque whereas the download modal box(?) would appear
please update your PHP version, if it resolves the issue if it is not resolved the issue, please, give your temporary wp-admin login details in a private reply for checking the issue.

For your select server option, there showing,
Mixed Content: The page at ‘<URL>’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure stylesheet ‘<URL>’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS wordpress
this error, I think this error is causing for your site .htaccess rewrite problem or this option adjustments as I image attached,
now, adjusting these options the site has gone to offline, please now, try to rename your plugins folder from wp-content/plugins for deactivating all plugins, then try to backup your htaccessfile, then generating a new, I hope thus your problem will be solved

However, can you tell me is the insecure css sheet was loaded by Download Manager? If so, can this be corrected in a future release?

Hello, Unfortunately the issue has not been resolved.
Because this is a virtualmachine, I have rolled it back to June last year and the plugin still isn’t working. I have even disabled Insecure content fixer which instantly breaks the site sending it into an endless loop, so it doesn’t work at all.
Sigh.
