While im here – can you tell me why I can never just ‘auto update’ your plugin like others? I always have to delete the plug in, download new one then upload it and activate.

I don’t understand what that means.

Can you see – right now – that it doesn’t work?

So are you saying that the ONLY fix is for me to upload the files zipped in the first place? I don’t want to do that. I want the three individual files to be downloadable individually. NEVER zipped. ONLY individually.

But the ONLY reason I want this … is because ZIPPED doesn’t work. And it seems you cannot fix that?

You have my login to the Burlescombe.devon.sch.uk website – so please set this so that nobody can download more than one file at once and let me know what you did, so i can do it to the other two sites.

surely your option 2 above blocks the user from downloading individual files too doesn’t it? I don’t want to do that as that destroys the entire point of having the documents there.

I am happy for users to download individual files in a package that includes more than 1 (as this WORKS). I just want to hide the LARGE download button that offers them to download ALL the files in a zip … because this DOESNT work.

Does that make sense??

sorry – I don’t understand? Are you saying that my PHP.ini file actually says:

zlib.output_compression = On On

??

Or are you saying that it SHOULD say that?

I can assure you that my PHP.ini file says:

zlib.output_compression = On

as outlined above.

If this doesn’t work on your plug-in, can you please tell me how to remove the button for zipped download and just give people the option to download individual files?

The default PHP version on the server is PHP7.3

[root@mail ~]# php -v

The zlib module is loaded:

[root@mail ~]# php -m | grep zlib
zlib

The site webbers.devon.sch.uk confirms that zlib is enabled when using a phpinfo file:

Stream Filter zlib.inflate, zlib.deflate
Compiled Version 1.2.3
Linked Version 1.2.3
Directive Local Value Master Value
zlib.output_compression On On

At this point I wonder if the issue is with the plugin. I’ve done more test and enabled debugging mode on your site and attempted to replicate the issue. In this case the error was more verbose and gave me this:

Deprecated: Function create_function() is deprecated in /home/webbersprimary/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/cpaddons-site-software.php on line 31

Deprecated: Function create_function() is deprecated in /home/webbersprimary/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/cpaddons-site-software.php on line 32
Please activate “zlib” in your server

I would recommend either using a different plugin or updating the code so that it’s not using a deprecated method any more.
