Where is basic documentation?

For the life of me I can’t figure this out on my own. What am I missing? I’m a developer and have a more advanced understanding of WordPress then most regular users.

I added a new download file, attached file, published, copied the shortcode into a new page. I can see the icon I chose, the name of the file and the file size, but none of it is linked anywhere. Also, how do you go about creating links like the ones in the screenshots in the WordPress plugin repository?

Where is the basic documentation? I’m wanting to try out the free version to see if it will work for my clients needs. I’m happy to purchase the Pro version for more features if I can get this to work.
Thanks!

All docs are available here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docsfor/download-manager-pro/ , pro and free, usage are same but in free, you just will not see some features.

Please install http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/ to generate short-code and there you will see the option to select templates.
