I use MailerLite to manage my subscribers and to do email automation. I’ve installed the Download Manager plugin into my site and set up my first file download. I added the short code in one of my pages and was able to successfully download the file as expected.
However, I’d like to embed this into an email. My plan is to have a popup on my site that asks users to subscribe, then immediately send them a follow up email with a link to download an ebook. I’m guessing that if I just embed the short code into an email, MailerLite won’t know what to do with it and it’ll just show up as a text string.
I don’t want to link the user to a page just to have them click a download button to get the asset, as that seems kind of clunky. Is there a more elegant way for me to do what I want to do?
