Hello, I’ve uploaded several of my course PDFs to Download Manager and put the shortcodes into my LearnDash course. The PDFs are only downloadable by customers, but once downloaded, the PDF URL is easily copied and pasted into an email (thus, the customer can share the PDF URL with non-customers). How do I prevent this?

Hello, Sara

I hope you are doing well and thanks for writing to us.

Kindly upload your files using SELECT FILE option. This will make the file inaccessible to non-logged-in users.

Let me know if this solves the issue.

Regards

Hi Tahasin, thank you for your response. I’ve used Select File. I’ve made the file viewable only to Customers and Administrators. You need to be logged in to the course to view the file, as expected, but the hyperlink is still sharable. When the customer opens the PDF up in a new window, they can easily copy and paste the PDF URL into an email and share it with a non-customer. Do you have a workaround for this?

To thoroughly check the issue, could you please share the login credentials in a private reply?

Another workaround is to enable this option, which will prevent instant downloads. After that, try copying the URL and pasting it into an incognito browser to see if it is accessible or not.
