Hello. I am trying to update some of my downloads and/or create new ones, but whenever I do the uploaded file just shows as “Undefined”.

download undefined

If I save the download and refresh it, it doesn’t contain any file. It is not uploading successfully.

I’ve tried with both big and small files, different formats. I’ve tried updating an existing download and creating a new one. I’ve updated to the newest version of the download manager. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Disregard this comment. Issue is not with formats but with file size.

I have another clue. I am testing with uploading two different ZIP files: one is 104 KB and the other is 4.91 MB. Issue happens with the second one. So it seems that file size is an issue but it triggers after only a few megabytes.

As you can see I have enabled uploads up to 1024 MB.

At first it didn’t work, but then I thought of clearing the cache (W3 Total Cache) and I managed to make my desired upload. So I don’t know if it was a combination of that and something you did, or if the cache was the whole problem. Thank you!

Is it working now?

Hello,

I managed to do one upload (for a file around 80 MB) but then the issue returned. Moreover the maximum file size that I could successfully upload kept shrinking until now I can’t upload anything larger than even 500 KB. So it seems that the issue has to do with available storage on our side.

So actually the issue was somehow related to Download Manager plugin. We have certain files we have to replace from time to time under the same download ID. But then I realized that each time we replaced it, the Download Manager plugin creates a whole new file with a filename starting with “##########wpdm_” (i.e.: “1726749636wpdm_…… .exe) rather than replacing the file. Even “deleting” the files from within the download editor didn’t really remove the file from the server. This made it so that each time we replaced the files, even if it was with the same filenames, there were new files being created and ended up filling our server storage. Is there a way to stop the plugin from generating these new filenames and just replacing the files?

Unfortunately, the option to replace files is not available in Download Manager Free. However, you can access this feature in Download Manager Pro under the When File Already Exists option.
