Download files removed in the database

Hi,
I uploaded several files and added them to different pages on my ecommerce.
Yesterday I realized that the download files were no longer visible on the pages.
Checking well I saw that in reality there are files in FTP but in the database, in the table “_postmeta” there is no file with “meta_key = __wpdm_files”.
How is it possible? Obviously excluding manual file removal?

Now I have restored the database and solved the problem.
I’m just curious to know what may be the cause that led to the removal of those lines in the database.
