I am using the shortcode [categories] in a custom link template. It shows the categories (as hyperlinks) that each download belongs to on my page. This is as it should be. When you click on any of the category links, you are taken to a new page which shows all the downloads belonging to that category. This is also how it should be. The link that are generated by the shortcode [categories] is formatted in this way: “https://my.domain.org/download-category/mycategory/”

The problem is that the category page that is generated is not formatted correctly. It just displays the the downloads as a list of hyperlinks with the document title as the text. I need to format these generated pages. I do not see a template that is assigned to these pages so that I can clone and / or format it.

What is the template or .php file that I can change to format the categories pages the way I need?

Hi Ed,

Hope you are fine. Sorry for being late to reply.
You can try something like below:

[wpdm_category id="Category Slug or Slugs" operator="IN" title="Custom Title Here or 1" desc="Custom Description or 1" toolbar="1" paging="1" order_by="field name" order="asc or desc" items_per_page="10" template="template name or ID" cols=4 colspad=2 colsphone=1]

Please let me know if you have a further query!
Cheers

I think you are not understanding what I am asking. I will try to make it more clear, but it is taking a long time just to get a response from WPDM. It took six weeks for you to answer.

I am using a code similar to what you have shared. Mine looks like this:

[wpdm_category id="human-resources" operator="IN" title="" desc="" toolbar="0" order_by="title" order="asc" item_per_page="999" template="link-template-custom-category-page.php" cols=1 colspad=1 colsphone=1]

This is my custom template:

<!-- WPDM Link Template: Custom Category Page -->

<div class="wpdm-link-tpl c2a3" style="padding: 10px; background: #f5f5f5; border-radius: 4px; margin-bottom: 10px;">

    <div class="media">
        <div class="pull-left" align="left">
        [icon]
        </div>

        <div class="pull-right" align="right">
            <i style="margin: 2px 0 0 5px;" class="far fa-hdd color-green"></i> [file_size]
        </div>

        <div class="media-body">
        <h3 class="media-heading" style="padding-top: 0px;border:0px;margin: 0 0 5px 0;font-size:12pt;"><a href="[download_url]">[title]</a> <span style="margin-left:30px;font-size:8pt;font-weight:300"><br> Categories: [categories]</span></h3>
        </div>

    </div>

</div>

Which produces an output like this:

Screenshot 1

If you click on the hyperlink “Human Resources” (highlighted in Screenshot 1), you are taken to an unformatted page that looks like this:

Screenshot 2

It shows the documents in the category “Human Resources”, but the list is unformatted. How can I change this? The page title is “Archives”, so I can’t change the page directly.
