category relations lost

Hello!
We have lost all categories that were related with our downloads. Before, we had ticked the appropriate categories for each download and saved. It worked fine with the file tree on the download page for a while. Now, for the second time all categories are not ticked anymore, so the products don’t show up in the file tree anymore.
Any ideas why this happens and how we can repair this?
