All files disappeared… download impossible

Hey!

I just started using wordpress to manage my college website. We have plenty of downloadable files but for a week now, I’ve been receiving messages notifying me that students were unable to download those files.
When I checked on my admin board, the links still exist but the files have disappeared. Does anyone know what happened (it’s the third time this year that we have to face such a problem) and how to quickly fix it (I could re-upload every file however, there are more than 200 so it’ll take forever and I seriously hope there’s another solution to this issue)

Thank you for your query.

It sounds really bad that your files are being disappeared. But keep the following in mind….

Wordpress Download Manager doesn’t delete uploaded files. Files should be stored in /wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files/ directory unless you have deleted them manually or move your server. Please check your /wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files/ directory to be sure if your files actually have been deleted or it is a path issue.

If you want us to take a closer look please send temporary wp-admin and FTP info in private reply.
