Hello,
we’ve uploaded the corrected Pro version (6.0.8). I’ve also updated the user permissions to super admin to see the plugin at the network level if you want to try to log back in with the credentials I provided earlier. We’d like to get the search functionality working with that shortcode. Thanks for looking at it for us!
Hello,
The code I was using was this: [wpdm-all-packages jstable=1]
However, when I place that code, I get this message on the page frontend:
This page isn’t working
vansd.org is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
Removing the jstable=1 fixes the problem (page will display), but we do use the search function and would like to include that in the shortcode parameters.
Our local time is different than our server timezone so it throws our availability and expire time off by eight hours. Can you create special code for our install or let me know a work around to this big problem??
Yes, our local install is not the same time zone as the server. Do you have a workaround to look at the local/install time?? Seems like a necessity- most sites probably aren’t on their server’s timezone…
I created another example:
Notice my time is 9:05 am in this example and I have the download to expire at 10:02 am
https://vansd.org/images/1Screen%20Shot%202021-02-22%20at%209-05-43%20AM.png
Second screenshot says the download is expired.
My time is 9:03 am and the download says it has expired at 10:02 AM
https://vansd.org/images/2Screen%20Shot%202021-02-22%20at%209-10-27%20AM.png
The download package url is:
https://vpsstaging.wpengine.com/wpdm-package/building-readers-january-2021-pdf/
The expiration time is off by 8 hours.
When I set a download manager document to expire I have to set the document to expire 8 hours ahead. If I want the document to expire at 2 p.m. I have to set it to expire at 10 p.m. If I want the document to expire at 3 p.m. I need to set it to expire at 11 p.m.
If I don’t set the document to expire 8 hours ahead it will expire to soon.
Under the heading
Download Availability Period
Download Available From: The time seems to be working correctly!
Download Expire on: The time is off by 8 hours. I need to set all my documents 8 hours ahead or they will expire to soon.

If you are available to Zoom…it would be very easy to show you what is going on.
Do you need any additional information at this time? I really need to be able to set my files to post and expire at the correct time.
No it still does work. My time is set correctly. My timezone is UTC-8
I copied over my site and made a duplicate. Please login to this site. It’s a sandbox so feel free to test in this environment.

We host our files with WPEngine and I believe our files are on a server in a different timezone.
Still not working correctly. Here’s what we know and believe what’s happening:
We know the files are off in time by the UTC time offset. When you expire something at noon today, it will be expired at 4 a.m. (that’s an -8 offset). We need the plugin to look at the wordpress setting for the offset to make the time correct. Is the plugin looking at the server for the timestamp? If so, we can’t change our server’s set time and it needs to look locally.
The plugin and files need to be looking at the local system’s timestamp. It is not currently doing that.
If you manually adjusts the timestamp settings, it will be a problem since we run daylight savings… we’d have to make that hour adjustment every time daylight savings happens. If this is the solution please let me know how to adjust.
We also found this on the Download Manager forum and perhaps this could be the problem we are having.

ALL MY FILES Download Manager files EXPIRE before they are suppose to. It’s global.
Yes. ALL of our downloads expire before the expiration time. It’s not just one file!
When I set a Download Manager Expiration date it will be expired before the time it’s suppose to be expired.
An example is:
Download is available from: 2021-02-09 11:59
Download Expire on: 2021-02-09 15:59
On my computer the time 12:21 PM and when I go to view a file it says DOWNLOAD ERROR:
Download was expired on Feruary 9, 2021 03:59 PM
THE FILE IS ALREADY EXPIRED and it’s only 12:21 PM my time.

ALL packages expire at a future time.
Here’s an example:

Thank you.
Hello,
when I go to look at it, I can see it is set to expire today at 11 a.m…. but it says it’s already expired still (it’s only 9 a.m. right now). The problem isn’t solved on my end… Can you tell me what changes you are making? I can try to update the plugin to see if that would maybe solve the issue?
Hello, I went back in and checked it and the time stamp on it was tomorrow and more than -7 hours out… which is why it’s correctly showing it’s not expired (it’s currently more than -7 hours from that time). I set the expiration back to today at 5 p.m. and it’s showing it’s expired again… it is only 10:39 a.m. here (6.5 hrs before the expiration should be occurring).
How do I remove the odd pop up that occurs when linking to a download item?
https://king.vansd.org/elementary-school-supplies/
Clicking on the Listado de útiles escolares para escuelas de primaria link in blue box in upper right corner generates a pop up that just says “Download”. I just want the file to open.
How do you get rid of all pop ups like this in general? We didn’t have this happen previous to the latest upgrade, and now the links have pop ups on them like the first screen. I don’t know what setting is triggering the pop up dialog box.
Hello,
I can see the full package files, but the one I updated was the last one which was called wpdm default values. What is that? I guess I must have updated the incorrect item. ORDER # 5A270FF001F97. Can you advise what I updated? It was $39 + $45 developer at a cost of $84.
The newest version still does not work like the older versions using the same directory. I just re-tested the latest downloadable version and none of my files on multisite are working, I still get the file not found .txt error message when attempting to look at any of my subsites files.
I did use the code modification suggested above; and that does work and fixes the latest versions’ problem. So that I understand: will we need to do this code ‘swap out’ every time there’s a new update on the plugin? I just need to note it for future updates as our process.
Thank you.
Hello @Shahriar and @Ravenswood,
sorry for the drop off on communication on this.
I just tested the dropbox version that was provided and it does work with our multisite setup on subsites.
Not sure though what the plan for development on this alternative version is… when it was provided, it is at version 4.7.1 and I can see now the plugin is at 4.7.2 (which I actually loaded first and it still did NOT work with the subsites).
Is there a plan to update this alt. version to 4.7.2? Or is the plan to at some point make it possible for us to update to the regular version?
Thank you.
@Shahriar,
I agree that separating out the /download-manager-files folders makes great sense in the long run… the set up for this as you’ve instructed does not work. I tried it:
-I created a new /download-manager-files folder in one of my sub-sites and then attempted to create a new download file in that sub-site. I then repeated the process in another sub-site, and the folder had disappeared in the first sub-site I tested it in.
-The other issue in making this move is that we have way too many files to copy into every sub-site directory. Obviously not every file belongs on each sub-site, but it would take us a long time to sort through each file to determine which sub-site it belongs to. That’s a lot of clean up we don’t have time for right now.
We will attempt to use this version you’ve provided in our sandbox to see if it fixes the multisite directory issue.
@Shafayet
I reverted the plugin back to 4.6.8, which is the last version that has worked properly with our install. I’ve tested every release that has come out in our staging environment, and each has broken our site, so we have waited to upgrade.
4.7.1 looked promising for updating as it was the first one to not drop the plugin out of the admin panel altogether.
However, with the changes in how the upload folders work in multisite, we are still not able to update this plugin.
