Figured it out on my own, it was a col-4 class in the template file that didn’t play nice with our setup, removed it, it now takes the width we intended to have.
I’ve disabled our cloudflare now so the caching issue will be gone. However there is still the issue of packages showing up not having a respectful width. There is 3 columns but each package only takes 1/4 of it’s column width.
Have a look please: https://skyluxdownloads.be/search-shortcode-test/
Page no longer needs a password, admin acc from previous private reply is still active!

Of course we use that one, since the other one with search didn’t work and we’re in production it would be really bad to leave it on there all the time… I switched back to the archive so there is at least something usable in the meanwhile for our clients.
Please don’t define what are and aren’t our needs to use. We internally decided that we need both, especially the all packages table was handy because it shows initial results, it has pagination and a search that works well. However it’s not Ajax and not performance friendly on lots of packages.
That would be alright if your alternatives even worked, but they don’t. The parameter jstable=0 makes the pagination unusable while outputting console errors of undefined elements on ‘top’ property. And search doesn’t return a single result.
The all package table would need AJAX loading instead of loading all of them at once. Because when we change jstable to 0 then it loses search functionality we want. On top of that it spits out console errors on results pagination without actually showing them.
The search feature doesn’t even return a single package and is not fully Ajax based, it refreshes the screen.
we were using the latest version, however we can’t find a changelog for the small update so reverted to the last working state. we won’t update until a major update comes. Because at least the previous version works well.
Totally solved by doing that step!
Thanks a lot!
I’m narrowing the problem down by updating all plugins, theme and WP 5.0 one by one and restoring the backup when needed.
It seems that i’m fine with WP 5.0 and all plugins updated.
Just when updating WPDM from 4.7.7 to 4.9.0 i’m experiencing the issue.
What we get is a file named “download error.txt”
inside that txt file i read: Error opening /data/sites/web/skyluxdownloadsbe/www/wp-content/uploads/wpdm-cache/5c506d9da3f63_N_T_Tarief_Skylux_Climacrown.pdf
I read wpdm-cache in that URL, might this be a conflict with Autoptimize?
Kind regards,
Skylux
That makes it work again
Thanks!
Ok, but as far as i see it, you just ignored the whole page builder part and just put the shortcodes into the wordpress editor…
That is not how we want to operate our website.
Elementor is one of the leading page builders at the moment, many people are converting from Divi and Beaver to Elementor, yet you don’t support their shortcode element?
ENG, FR and DE pages are still in the pagebuilder version and not clickable of course
That does what we want. Thanks a lot!
We’ll have to discuss this in a meeting.
Okay, that does fix it but we don’t need an extra column…
Files are updated and overwritten in our ftp server and the files on our wordpress are addressed through your ftp addon, the date column might confuse our customers in 3-6 months why they can’t find the most recent technical spec sheets or tarifs…
Hello,
Using that documented shortcode, we’re stumbling on another problem.
When removing the cols and colhead: download_link & update_date
Then the navigation and search option disseapears from the table, as seen in this picture (1 ► what we need with search, 2 ► what we get): image of issue
I use the shortcode like this: [wpdm_all_packages items_per_page="20" jstable=1 cols="title,file_count|categories" colheads="Title|Categories"]
Is there any possibilty you could add this as a function? Because now on our main page we havethis shortcode: [wpdm-all-packages jstable=1]
Which gives a nice overview and searchable list of our product files but the integrated download button on the right is not UX-friendly if it’s not doing anything useful…
Live server and domain problems are solved. Apparently after deploying my local website to the live server, WPML caused issues. Then an employee of the hosting company redirected my domain to a local one… Not so smart… Anyways it’s live right now!
Also switching to a live server makes the difference for the FTP addon to not display an error, it’s functional now.
Thanks for the support and investing your time in troubleshooting!
Kind Regards,
Skylux
Yes I will try to get it on a live server.
I got approval for hosting but our partner is solving some domainname issues right now.
I hope to be back soon with a live version to test and troubleshoot this problem on.
Hi,
Thank you!
I must have accidentally deleted the “allow access” configuration.
Then the CSS works too.
However, again another thing (hopefully the last one!) is blocking me from starting this project.
When adding our FTP server (with credentials), then creating a package shows me an error right where i should be able to use the “Add files from remote ftp server”.
Again visualisation of the problem in attachment
Kind regards,
Skylux
