Shaon – I wanted to follow up to see if you have an upgraded plugin. Here are the list of all the problems we are facing for this paid plugin.
Please know that we are launching on Wednesday (tomorrow) and just noticed these problems. We would greatly appreciate any quick help in solving any or all of these issues.
ARCHIVE TEMPLATE
Page template view
# Clicking on the breadcrumb/pathway to go back to the List template view leads to an archive page with a completely different format. The URL ends with /download/ with the subtitle BLOG ARCHIVES instead of the original archive page.
Link template view
# [see attachment] If you are on page 1 and click on “Previous” or on the last page and click on “Next”, the view loads the entire website within WPDM view. It shows the search box followed by the entire website (header + menu + body + footer) for the same view where the archived downloads are supposed to show up. Please modify the archive view so that “Previous” link does not show up when the user is on page 1 and the “next” link does not show up when the user is on the last page of the archive.
# Unlike the category pages, when the user goes from page to page by using the Previous-1-2-3-Next at the bottom, the page does not load and scroll to the top. It stays in the same location. Please keep this functionality consistent. (Low priority)
# Search feature does not work if you use more than one word or spaces after one word.
Category pages
# In the link template view, the “Previous” and “Next” buttons are < and > signs. Please keep this consistent with the archive view.
Thanks Shaon. When can we expect the next release? Would appreciate a time range. Thanks.
Shaon – One more bug I found –
If I go to the archive page and click on a download to view the download detail page (for e.g. http://www.primateeducationnetwork.org/pen2/download/grasp-great-apes-distribution-map-infographic-3/) and try to go back to the archive page by clicking on the breadcrumb (pathway), it goes to a completely different view of the archive page. To recreate, please do the following –
1) Go to http://www.primateeducationnetwork.org/pen2/resources
2) Click on any resource (e.g. GRASP …)
3) Find the breadcrumb Home > Resource > [name of download item]
4) Click on “Resource” in the breadcrumb from step #3
The view of resulting page is completely different from http://www.primateeducationnetwork.org/pen2/resources. The same functionality works just fine on the category pages. The breadcrumb is pulling the value and the URL from a different variable looks like…
How do I fix this problem on the archive page?
Shaon – You are the man.
Everything worked out great. Thank you for your help. Hope you can work out the bugs I pointed out in the upcoming version. Thanks again.
1) Clarification on previous issue – On this URL http://www.primateeducationnetwork.org/pen2/resources/, I would like to remove the 9 buttons arranged in 3×3 matrix. I have attached a screenshot that has the 9 buttons I want to remove circled in red. Hope that helps 🙂
2) Also – How can I remove the “…” that shows up at the end of the excerpt? For example, the second package shown is “Ask your students to write a poem about a monkey, color and cut the template, and then hang it on the “poe-tree” once complete. …”. I want to remove the “…” at the end.
3) On the detail page view (i.e. where I see the details of one package), the breadcrumb shows up as Home › Package › GRASP Great Apes Distribution Map Infographic. I don’t want “Package” to show up. Can it instead pick up the title of the previous page or the menu item under which it fell? For now, I can manually change “Package” to “Resources” (for my website) it if you can point me to the right file.
Thansk Shaon!
Sorry Shaon. Looks like I missed one.
On b) I want to remove the 9 filter buttons arranged in 3×3 format. I would like for the archive view to show the search bar and the list of downloads. That’s it.
What code will I need to comment out? Please let me know if you need FTP access.
Great! Everything works, Shaon! Thank you so much for your patience and help.
The only bug is f) given above. Hope you can fix it in the next release.
Shaon,
A few updates… I figured out 4 things but still need your help with the list below –
1) Archive View –
The short code above works but I have some questions.
[DONE] a) Can I remove that empty first column (which I assume is for featured images)? The icons I selected don’t show up here.
b) Can I get rid of the buttons on top at all?
[DONE] c) Can I change the order of items in archive view to be reverse chrono?
[DONE] d) Can I remove “Size” as an attribute in the view?
[DONE] e) Can I swap “Last Updated” to “Uploaded Date”?
f) The Downloaded variable only shows “times” without any numerical value, even if it is zero.
You can view the archive page here – http://www.primateeducationnetwork.org/pen2/resources/
g) I want to show the author field but can’t find that as a meta (page info or package meta) option. I can use the custom field option but I have no idea how to make it show up in the page or link templates.
2) Category View –
I’m using [wpdm_category id="africa" order_by="create_date" order="asc" item_per_page="3" template="532f733f227c0"] and it’s showing 3 columns.
I just want one column, much like on the archive page but I want ONLY the docs from this category view.

Shaon – I love your plugin but I’m finding setting up the views to be very hard. I want to close this out asap and would appreciate your continued support.
I have two views –
1) Archive View –
The short code above works but I have some questions.

My offer to send a gift card / payment for a few minutes of your time still stands. Thank you for your support.
Shaon – Sorry for multiple updates here.
I successfully set up the archive pages using this shortcode [wpdm_category id="africa" order_by="create_date" order="asc" item_per_page="3" template="532f733f227c0"]
… where template is the link template I cloned from the “default template w icon”. However, the links are divided into 3 columns. How do I get the category page (not the detail view) to have only one column like you did on this page – http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/style-3/ ?
Please advise.
Thanks for the replay, Shaon. I installed the MCE editor button. I am able to select the categories etc. but it doesn’t do anything when I click on “Insert into Post” button. Please advise.
I’m running the latest version of the MCE editor and WPDM Version 4.0.0 RC2. Will upgrading fix the problem? If so, can I simply download one of these from my orders page and upload it in order to upgrade?
# Download Manager Pro Ultimate (v4.0.6) OR
# WordPress Download Manager Pro Dominant (v3.3.8)
Thanks!
On #2 – Dumb question – I’m currently using the default WP WYSIWYG editor. I’m assuming I should have this installed http://wordpress.org/plugins/tinymce-advanced/ before I try to install your button.
Is that right?
Shaon,
1) I installed the directory plugin and will work on the archive settings. Thank you so much!
2) I am unable to install the Advanced tinyMCE button plugin. It’s exactly what I need and this is the error I get –
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: Advanced-TinyMCE-button.zip
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin install failed.

Please advise.
