I understand that caching is not an issue, but I didn’t quite get what you meant about bots.

Thanks, that helps a lot, but I had some more detailed questions about it. I’m sorry to ask so many questions, but I’m trying to get a clear idea of how much the content is really being seen.

1. Is it possible that view counts could be affected by page caching?

2. How does it recognize visitors in order to count unique visitors? Mainly I want to know this, in order to know whether a bot visiting the site multiple times is likely to be counted once or multiple times.

The issue is, the view count doesn’t increase when I visit the package page. I have tried visiting package pages several times in various browsers and devices not logged in, and the view count doesn’t change.

Thanks for the response,

Could you clarify further what you mean by “view count may vary for the same active user”? I’m still not quite clear on what it is actually counting.
