Dear Shariar,
Sorry I did not see you replied!
Thanks it’s working fine now. So apparently my mistake was to write wpdm_category id=”category number,” instead wpdm_category id=”category name,”
There is still time to wish you a wonderful year 2019!
Best,
Audrey
Thanks Shahriar for getting back to me 🙂
I am using WPDM Packages by Category as Footer widget, with this link Template :
<div class=”widget widget_wpdm_catpackages”>
[thumb]
<br style=”clear:both”/>
<h2 style=”font-size: 22px !important;”>[categories]</h2>
</div>
<style>.wp-post-image {width: 100% !important;}</style>
So I do not understand how to use your structure in the Link Template code and ask [thumb] to be random…
Best,
Audrey
Thanks a lot Shahriar is really fine! looking great. When you are not a programmer, I find it difficult to figure out Theme and Pluggins variable interactions.
Many thanks again for your help with this,
Best,
Audrey
Thanks Shahriar for your reply, do you remember past threads from WPDM users that could give me some hints to display random packages?
Best,
Audrey
I prefer the smaller one in Home Page.
Could you explain why the display is not the same “automatically”?
Audrey
Dear Shariar,
Thanks for adding this category widget feature to next updates 🙂
I am happy you helped me with link templates, thanks for these css customizations ! I modified some values so font sizes and spacings look similar in archive page and category page. But I did not find the precise values when inspecting the page (my category page font settings are set up to “inherit”).
I don’t understand why the elements defined by the link templates do not look the same automatically : I noticed that even the Add to cart button is different (font size and sizes of the button)..
Best,
Audrey
Thanks a lot Shariar for your help. I even manage to do further customizations from your advices. I still have some of the issues discussed not solved.
> Thanks for the custom link Template doc. I understand the global process but what I do not understand is how to apply the correct code to customize the template, as I do not see examples. For example you helped me to modify the Product title font size with <h2 style> but I did not manage to customize the Category name font size below even if I inspected the page code… So #wpdm-downloads * {font-size: 10pt;} is still controlling it.
> To protect the file class.Categories.php from updates, I would like to add it in my Child theme. I tried : Child Theme >download-manager > widgets> class.Categories.php or Child Theme >download-manager > class.Categories.php but it does not work, what is the correct path to customize the category widget file in Child Theme?
> You added [title] so now the title becomes a link, but the title is underlined on hover . I tried .w3eden a {
text-decoration: none !important;}
but this code also applies to the category name. How can I do to control only the title (product name) ?
> Concerning Page titles, I understand that when I create a page or a post my theme controls the title (besides it displays correctly in « page-title pad group » when I create a page or a post). But when I add a download using WPDM plugin, I believed that the plugin would be controlling the title.
Hope you will be able to help me with these issues,
best,
Audrey
Dear Shahriar,
Thanks a lot for your help, it is definitely a progress. But still they are not identical, I did manage to improve some points but not all of them :
> Product title is missing : In the Featured Image Template I added [title] <br style=”clear:both”/, so now it displays
> Product title and category name font sizes are different from the category pages #wpdm-downloads * {font-size: 10pt;} seems to control font sizes in the archive page, how can I fix this ?
> The thumbnails you added are not clickable (to access the product page!) and do not have the hover effect as in category page, how can I do this ?
> I do not need « Search », « Order by », Order », « Home> All Downloads » AND Category Names (they display in the sidebar already),
So I replace your custom CSS by :
#srcp, .w3eden .breadcrumb, .w3eden .wpdm-categories {display: none;}, is this correct?
> I am using the widget wpdm category :
– I would like that the background color of the selected category changes. I made several trials as .w3eden .list-group-item .active a{background-color:#fff800;} but it is not working, how can I do that?
– I would like that the selected wpdm category displays as page title (like the archive page does), how can I set up this?
Thanks a lot for helping me,
Best,
Audrey
