More then a month ago i had downloaded version 2.6 (i think it was) and everything was working out great!
But, when i updated to version 2.7 it started messing things up. Whenever i clicked the download button, instead of a save as/open prompt i get the file showing up as text in my browser like this:

RIFFRÅWAVEfmt €»€2smpl$aQ<JUNKTEMPOMAP: H dataÞÄåÿÿÕÿÿÕþÿ5ÿÿ<ÿÿ¥ÿÿÿÿD„ÿÿ$Õÿÿœ,Õÿÿåÿÿÿÿõÿÿÿÿ4\¬ôÿÿ{äÿÿ#kãC³ktÿÿËûÿÿ,ÿÿ;¼þÿs۳ˋÄÿÿlÿÿSÄÿÿ#œþÿ<ÿÿ¼ÿÿSÛÔÿÿ›K;Œÿÿ[SÄÿÿkstÿÿÔþÿÿÿÜÿÿÔÿÿ{ìÿÿ¼ÿÿ,ÿÿlÿÿ3c»Üÿÿ‹#ìÿÿƒ{Kìÿÿ“»lÿÿ£|ÿÿ‹ÿÿ´ÿÿÄÿÿC[+«óË#”ÿÿ»Œÿÿ»s3Z”â*Ò¢r#ÿÿ‚²Ê[ÿÿB‚¢¢Cÿÿj*rëÿÿCÿÿ³ÿÿ»ÿÿrƒÿÿ«ÿÿ”šÊSÿÿÒ2ãþÿÛÿÿCÿÿ³ÿÿŠ²jš[ÿÿ²«ÿÿºBsÿÿ£ÿÿkÿÿŠÛÿÿš;ÿÿ:¢ÂËÿÿËÿÿB¢ãÿÿÓþÿb»ÿÿ›ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿãÿÿÿÿê”cÿÿ*«ÿÿKÿÿëÿÿ+ÿÿ:2:Kÿÿ+ÿÿëÿÿR‹ÿÿÛÿÿ 2âzº«ÿÿJâR* «ÿÿëÿÿëÿÿ:ºªªóÿÿÃþÿJÓÿÿƒÿÿ{ÿÿzŠÛÿÿ«ÿÿª”[ÿÿÓÿÿóþÿÿÿ«ÿÿûÿÿ*ÿÿ‹ÿÿ Ëÿÿ#ÿÿ{þÿëÿÿ”SÿÿcÿÿºcÿÿSÿÿóþÿ:Ãÿÿ›þÿ‹ÿÿ3ÿÿƒÿÿ›

And so on and so on…

Ive been trying to figure things out myself; checking file permissions, re-installing (numerous times), clearing the database, manual uploading files into the correct folder.. Nothing seemed to work…

I’ve let is rest for a couple of weeks and decided to give a go at it today again.. Same issue..
Completely cleared everything that has to do with wpdm including database files.. Did a complete fresh install but again, and after fixing the upload permission thing (neverending issue: chmod 777 is the only thing that seems to work), again the download files are showing up as text..

I think it has to do with the file permissions meaning that it’s readable, but not excecutable..

Either way, i cant figure how to get it working again, so any help is much appreciated.

Now it is fixed. Your server doesn’t support Resumable Downloads and Output Buffering so i disabled it in settings page.

Thauhid,

For some reason, im having problems again.. Dunno why. After you’ve fixed it, the only thing ive done is re-upload the two files i had prior.

This is what im getting now:

Getting this on 50% of all page loads:

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/var/www/tmp/sess_b6b654fe07c36b567b790a8195cba98b, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in /home/mgws1/domains/osmose-music.com/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/download-manager.php on line 15

Getting this as well on download of a file:

It seems to be you have no writable permission to the /var directory. Please send the session_start error to your server/hosting support, they will change the file/dir permission and which will fix your issue.
